Positive Seeds in Pelan, Inc. is a non-profit, 501c3 charitable, youth development organization. The word Pelan is the same as the name Patmos in the Holy Bible (Rev. Chapter 1 – Verse 9.) Patmos is the island that is situated in the Aegean Sea. The Bronx (Pelan-Patmos) is also surrounded by water and water is the basis of all life so we use this name (Pelan) to teach righteousness.

For those of you who are not familiar with our organization, Positive Seeds in Pelan was established in 2005 to develop and nurture the youth in our communities. We promote our youth to lead productive and fruitful lives by combating negative societal influences with a structured and supportive learning environment that is conducive to their educational, social and personal enrichment.

This program is a mentoring program for youth ages 8-18, currently serving over 30 students, and is designed to serve as a preventative resource for youth not involved in the juvenile justice system, and an intervention resource for youths that are. Two major programs currently running are the Know-the-Ledge Mentoring program and the GUN VIOLENCE PREVENTION Project. The Know-the-Ledge Mentoring program is geared towards saving your youth who are becoming an endangered species due to gang violence. This program teaches the youth knowledge that fosters self-responsibility and self-respect so they will be less self-destructive towards their parents, community, and themselves, as well as promote and foster a positive attitude towards themselves and their parents and community as well. The GUN VIOLENCE PREVENTION Project A program that allows teens to visit with the inmates to learn firsthand about life behind bars. AND THE DANGERS OF GUN VIOLENCE IN THEIR COMMUNITIES

We work very hard to provide these quality and necessary programs to our youth each year and I hope we can count on you for a generous donation of $25 or more.
